5 ways to invest in your business when you’re on a budget

let’s play a game.

what comes to mind when you hear the phrase “Invest in your business”?

do you think of the common phrase you’ve got to spend money to make money? maybe your mind jumps to spending thousands of dollars to join a mastermind group. or maybe its hiring a new team member?

often times investing in your business is associated with a negative reputation because as a new business owner you don’t have tons of extra cash just lying around. it takes money to run a business, but it takes investment to grow a business.

you know this & that’s exactly why you’re reading this blog post. you’re running your business, you want it to grow, but let’s face it — you’re still on a budget!

no need to fear friend, here are 5 ways you can invest in your business without breaking the bank.

01. read a book (or several) on a specific topic or skill you want to learn more about from your local library. // Cost: free

the library is the most underrated free resource for new business owners! libraries give us access to thousands of books full of new ideas, resources, and knowledge all for free — literally all you need is a library card!

02. grab a coffee & go journal. // cost: $10

running your business is constant personal development. if you want to be the best version of yourself then spend some time journaling through your mindset, limiting beliefs, how you handled x situation, or brain dump ideas that have been swirling around your head for a while.

03. take an online course. // cost: free-$150

there’s a course for everything! courses are great ways for you to learn new skills or techniques at your own pace. my favorite courses are from LinkedIn learning & obvi the ones I create! if you’re looking to better understand the sales process and how to customize it for your own business, take a look at the sales mini course I created!

04. go on a retreat. // cost: $150-$800

getting out of your daily routine, connecting with like minded people & yourself, and rejuvenating your passion and dreams can be so good for yourself as a business owner — especially if you’re feeling stuck, lost, or in a rut.

05. hire a business coach. // cost: $35-$5000

business coaches specialize in so many different things so before you hire a business coach, don’t be afraid to ask questions to make sure you all would be a good fit to work together! if you’re looking for support on a single topic & want to walk away feeling confident with a game plan, my single coaching session would be great for you! or maybe you’re wanting several weeks of support as you dive into the foundations of business so you walk away ready to serve & sell your dream customers with beyonce level confidence in yourself, then my mentorship is a better fit for you!

no matter what your budget is, you can always find ways to invest in yourself and your business. if i’ve learned one thing about investing its this: your business won’t grow unless you’re investing back into it. no investment is too small so release the expectation that you’ve gotta spend thousands of dollars to grow your business.
