self-care | 4 ways to date yourself

So often, we focus on caring for others that we neglect what we need. This leads us to being consumed by stress, worry, & anxiety. Since this is the month of love, I encourage you to find ways to date yourself!

Here are 4 creative ways to date yourself:

01. Treat yourself to a spa day: Enjoy a relaxing massage, a bubble bath, or a facemask.

Pamper yourself! I’ve been getting pedicures more frequently — it’s been a great way for me to take care of myself since I’m on my feet all the time in yoga classes!

02. Plan a solo adventure: Go for a hike, visit a museum, or try a new activity.

Do something fun, ALONE. It can be weird doing things by yourself, especially if you’re not used to being alone. It’s actually very fun! One of my favorite things to do by myself is go to the library & peruse the isles of books. It’s so calming & I always find something new to read!

03. Indulge in your favorite foods: Cook a fancy meal or go out to eat at a restaurant you've been wanting to try.

Hello, who doesn’t love food!? Yeah that’s what I thought. Food is delicious — it’s a gift, really. I’ve been loving homemade tacos lately! We’re talking the whole nine yards — homemade tortillas, fresh guac, seasoned cauliflower that’ll melt your mouth, & a local beer from the liquor store down the block. It’s a whole vibe & worth the effort, 10/10 recommend.

04. Cultivate a hobby: Read a book, paint, or learn a new skill.

I decided I needed a new hobby in November --  I needed a creative outlet so I took up drawing. I’m not good by any means but that hasn’t stopped me from learning & creating. It’s taught me to be patient & give myself grace. It’s also a great stress relief!

The idea of "dating yourself" is to spend quality time with yourself and treat yourself with the same care and attention you would give to a loved one. Enjoy the opportunity to get to know yourself better and have some fun!

xx,

ally
